Delete Skype Chat History for Only One Contact

Find me here

Skype keeps records of all your chat messages and stores them on your computer. It has a built-in option to delete your whole chat history, but you can’t remove the history only for a single contact. This is why in this article I will show you a way to do just that.
Follow the steps bellow in order to delete your Skype chat history for only one contact:

  1. Download the following program (there is a separate version for 64 bit Windows). I found this program in a thread on the official Skype forums, but the thread no longer exists.
  2. Install it and then go to your Program Files folder so you can make a desktop shortcut. Navigate to the folder named Pril, right click on the file SKYPECHATREMOVE.exe and click Send to -> Desktop.
  3. Before you continue, first save your chat history just in case something goes wrong.
  4. Quit Skype and open the program you installed (you might need to run it as administrator). First choose your Skype name and then write the Skype name of one of your contacts.
  5. Click the button :).
I have tried this program and it works, but keep in mind that it is fan made. It is not an official software application and it has no one to support it or to fix its bugs. If you choose to use it, it is at your own risk.
