Talented Pakistani Girl Volleyball Player

Find me here
I have 9 siblings and all of them are accomplished doctors, nurses or engineers. When I did my Fsc, they all expected me to join the same prestigious fields. However, I joined sports and social work because that was where my interest lay. Unfortunately, both fields are not given importance in our country. The only sport considered important enough to spend millions on is cricket. I,
Pakistani Girl
on the other hand, have always been interested in volley ball. When I got selected for the National Girls’ team for volley ball, the response from my family was expected – they weren’t happy because it has no scope. Only my father supported me and motivated me to do my best. Encouraged by him, I started practicing and realized that as compared to men, women are not encouraged to play any kind of sport. This disheartened me but I decided that I will not give up. And I didn’t. In the coming month, our National Girls’ team for volley ball is going to Dubai to represent Pakistan and I'm hopeful that we will win, becoming a source of positive change for our country. Girls should be given equal opportunities in all fields because we can excel in all. There is just a need for support and encouragement from our families and the government. Usually, people give up after the first failure in life. But I believe that you should do it again and again until you achieve your goal. The term ‘giving up’ should not be in your dictionary, especially if you are a girl.
