"I was four years old when my father passed away. It was the beginning of the most devastating times and what felt like a dead end in the lives of me and my siblings. My mother was only 32 years old when this happened and she had to raise 3 daughters alone. She did the best she could for our studies in the severely limited budget we had. She made sure my sisters and I were her main focus. We never felt neglected or that she did not do enough for us.
Pakistani Girl

I was the youngest and essentially very tomboyish. I developed a passion for sports very early on. At 14, I started playing squash with my family being my only supporters. My mother’s eyes would sparkle when she would watch me play. My elder sister was a constant source of motivation and my twin sister was my rock. Every day was a struggle but I kept pushing myself to train harder and harder and not fall back on my studies.
Sometimes the only person I used to have to play with was the clerk of the academy where I trained. I remember, my first ever match was against a senior Srilankan player. I lost that match very badly but did not let it pull me down. I was motivated to train even harder. My most amazing supporter and spectator, my mom, used to sit outside and watch me play for hours and notice all my weaknesses and then help me improve.
My family and I faced a lot of criticism in society but we never let it get to us.
People will talk but you cannot ever let that stop you from chasing your dreams. All you need is passion, hardwork and determination.
